Reagan Gala review

Posted on Jan 25, 2012 in Blog with comments

Thank you to everyone who attended or donated to our inaugural Ronald Reagan Gala on Jan. 24, 2012!

The Travis County Republican Party (TCRP) honored Atty. Gen. Greg Abbott with the local party's first REAGAN COURAGE AWARD at this year's fund-raising event titled "Ronald Reagan Gala - A Tribute to Courage."

The event, held at the University of Texas' AT&T Executive Conference Center on Jan. 24, featured Abbott as the keynote speaker, with tributes given by former state Solicitor Ted Cruz and Justice Jeff Rose.

The Reagan Courage Award -- soon to become an annual tradition -- recognizes conservative officials who carry on the legacy of government accountability, limited spending, and family values exemplified by former U.S. President Ronald Reagan.

TCRP honored two of its own Precinct leaders at the event. James Randall received the Precinct Chairman of the Year award. And local GOP stalwart Frank Bomar was awarded with the title "Precinct Chairman Emeritus" for his 50 years of service to the Travis County Republican Party.

Local talk radio show host Craig Bushon of KJCE-AM, 1370, was the emcee for the event. Joining him in honoring Abbott was TCRP Chairman Rosemary Edwards

Pianist and composer Reuel Meditz provided musical entertainment for the Gala. Reuel debuted a custom-made piano he had built prior to the event, and wore a jacket designed after the one Michael Jackson wore to the Reagan White House in the '80s.

Though the Gala has ended, the fund-raising effort continues! For more information on donating to TCRP, visit our Web site at http://www.traviscountygop.org.
