Dr. Rosemary Edwards Chairwomanrosemary@tcrp.org Phone: 512-302-1776 Dr. Edwards brings a wealth of organizational, teaching and leadership experience to the Travis County Republican Party. She taught Management and Organizational Development graduate courses at St. Edwards University, taught high school students to prepare for the SAT for 10 years and has developed a medical management consulting business with her husband, Richard. She has been a Travis County Party activist since winning her first election (as a write-in candidate) by ONE VOTE! Not deterred by the slim margin, she dove into grassroots county politics and worked tirelessly to defeat the inflated Round Rock School Bond, create local support of the Texas Constitutional Amendment for the definition of marriage between one man and one woman, and block walked for every local, state and federal candidate on the ballot in the past 8 years. Dr. Edwards volunteered in the Headquarters Office of the Mighty Texas Strike Force, the first nation-wide 72 hr strike force for re-electing President Bush in ’04. She was selected as the Precinct Chair of the Year, served as the Volunteer Coordinator of Travis County Victory ’06 Coalition and conducted training sessions for Precinct Chairs. She has attended Senatorial Conventions, serving on the Nominations Committee and participated in State Conventions. She brings broad experience of working with neighbors, parents and friends to the table and has proven her self to be a catalyst for making things happen. One of Dr. Edwards’ favorite quotes from President Ronald Reagan is “There is no limit to what we can accomplish as long as it doesn’t matter who gets the credit”. She ran her campaign on a theme of building our party and unifying the party for a New Day in Travis County. There is a new enthusiasm about Republican Politics in Travis County under her leadership! |
